Specifically I am speaking about the ones on sites that provide news or information.
You’ve seen them, I am sure.
Site has a story and they embed a video.
Thinking it is supplemental information I find it is just a repeat of what was written.
Why bother doing this?
Somebody’s failing at time management here.
We speak about 150 words a minute.
Most people read at 300 words a minute.
So is it a visual thing because I sure have more important things to do than listen to some asshole.
What is it with people who’d rather “watch” the news than actually “read” the news. And don’t give me some happy horseshit about, “well, I start it and then do something else.” Sorry, that won’t wash because you can’t do both equally well.
OH!! And those videos where you have no way to skip forwards and are stuck having to watch 6 minutes of a 7 minute video to get to the part at 6:01 that’s really interesting?
I hate those the most.
I refuse to watch them. Did it once though for the reason I list just above but never again. Life’s too short.
Just as bad? Those “news” videos where someone in the studio passes it off to another asshole who, in turn, passes it off to even another asshole.
