When Japan refused to surrender after seeing what one bomb could do to its cities, the U.S. gave them another example.
It did not take long after that.
I am currently reading a book by George McDonald-Fraser about his tim fighting the Japs in Burma called Quartered safe out here. He does not have a high opinion of them. I can recommend it to anyone interested in WW2 and particularly the 14th Army known as “The forgotten Army”. McDonald-Fraser also wrote a series of books based on the misadventures of the fictitious character and notorious bully Flashman from Tom Browne’s Schooldays. They are absolutely hilarious. Totally non pc and recommended to anyone who needs a good read and a good laugh.
