Kid climbs up memorial.

40 feet.

Goes “splat” and “crunch!” and “snap!”

Dumbass is still alive.

A 13-year-old boy plummeted about 40 feet from a monument at the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania.

Authorities said the teen was visiting the park on a school field trip when he fell from the Pennsylvania Memorial around 9am on Friday.

Acting park spokesman Jason Martz said the boy, who is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, was then flown Hershey Medical Center for treatment.

Martz said the youth suffered broken bones and internal injuries.

Authorities have not released the boy’s condition at the hospital and he has not been identified.

The top of the monument has an observation level, and the boy fell from there despite a 3- to 4-foot-high safety wall.

Martz told ABC 27 that the teen fell from a stairway while in an area ‘where he was not supposed to be’.

The park has opened an internal investigation.

The 100-foot Pennsylvania Memorial, the park’s largest monument, is in the center of the Union line on Cemetery Ridge.

Interestingly, the National Association of Injury Compensation Lawyers are having their annual convention 40 miles North in Harrisburg, PA. Currently U.S. Highway 15 South bound is backed-up for 35 miles.

They don’t need to check that kid for brain activity, he didn’t have any before his fall.

Thus will ensure the never-ending knee-jerk bureaucratic red-tape response. Instead of letting stupid people suffer the fate of their idiotic actions, we will instead punish smart responsible people by limiting access to this monument, roping off, long lines, limited number allowed, and so on.

Kinda like EVERYTHING else in America where the last 10,000 laws created were for the purpose of protecting idiots from themselves…all to the detriment of everyone else. And just like a chain is only as strong as its weakest link or traffic travels at the speed of the slowest car, America will slowly grind to a halt so that those of that who are not morons, will be made to suffer and comply with rules made due to the poor decisions of these same morons.

I have an idea. Instead of making all of these idiotic laws where we have to address every single stupid action idiots are capable of…we instead make it against the law to be a moron. If you do something stupid, you get judged by a panel of people who have proven to not be morons, and if they decide you guilty, the penalty is either death…or you are forced to move to Australia. Your choice. Problem solved.
