I’m sure there are other American cities that qualify for the title “Shithole” – San Francisco, Chicago, Baltimore, and a host of others. Portland takes the cake. Portland police refused to respond to several 911 calls from employees at the Portland ICE office. Employees there called 911 when angry mobs made them fear for their physical well being. Portland police did not respond to any of their 911 calls.
I won’t be shedding a tear when Portland explodes and burns to the ground, along with their city government and all their Antifa cronies. Frankly, I’d like to see the federal government declare martial law and move in their own police and arrest their entire government. If any of the Portland PD resist, arrest them too. It’s one thing to go along with the OccupyICE/Antifa thugs, but when a citizen calls 911, failure to respond is unconscionable.
The activists were there protesting President Donald Trump’s enforcement of current immigration laws, many of which were in place since former President Barak Obama was in office.
“We understand that you have a difference of opinion with the current President of the United States, and some of his policies, but we fail to see why targeting the employees of ICE and leaving them vulnerable to violence, harassment and even death furthers a legitimate government interest,” their lawyer, Sean Riddell, says in the letter. “Your policy has created a zone of terror and lawlessness.”
“We ask that you end your policy of not responding to calls for police services from ICE employees immediately,” the ICE union pleads in the letter to the mayor. “We would like to avoid federal litigation, but we are prepared to protect our membership and their families.”
Portland police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
This story would make for yet another great advertisement for conservative Republicans. Normal people, they kind that believe in the rule of law, regardless of their party politics, won’t put up with that kind of behavior. Sure, I like seeing Democrats show their true colors, but not at the expense of someone’s life or physical safety.
