Gave her baby a meth overdose and then threw the body in a dumpster.
Kathryn Juanita Green, 26, is accused of dumping her baby in the trash bin near her home in Enid just north of Oklahoma City.
The baby’s body was found inside a wooden box in the dumpster and was wrapped in a blanket and plastic bag on April 9.
The baby’s autopsy report released this week found the boy died of methamphetamine toxicity and the medical examiner has ruled his death a homicide.
Police had been called to investigate reports of an odor when they came across the body.
A neighbor told police that he had thrown the box away at Green’s request, but he thought she was joking when she said their was a baby inside, NewsOK reports.
Green was arrested in April after police searched the home where she was living with her three young children. She was arrested on charges of child neglect after officers found her home to be unsanitary and unfit for the children.
The mother was also jailed for meth possession after police said she attempted to conceal meth in her body cavities.
A DNA test later confirmed that Green was the mother of the baby found in the dumpster.
Her charges from the original arrest were amended on Thursday once the medical examiner’s report was released.
She is now charged with second-degree murder, unauthorized disposal of a corpse, child neglect, possession of a controlled dangerous substance-meth and obstructing an officer.
Green remains in prison from her original arrest.
