OBVIOUSLY HIS PARENTS NEVER TAUGHT HIM NOT TO POINT A GUN AT ANYONE

Even a BB gun.

Especially at a cop.

He gets no do-overs on this one.

California police officers fatally shot a 15 year-old student Saturday after he pointed a BB gun at them in his high school parking lot.

San Diego police believe the teenager placed a call to officers about a young man who needed police to check on him, reports NBC New York.

“[In] our preliminary investigation, we believe that the subject that was shot is the person who actually called to check the welfare [of the minor]. We believe that he actually called and spoke about himself in the third person,” San Diego Police Department (SDPD) Acting Homicide Capt. Mike Holden said. “It was a very general ‘check the welfare’ call.”

Police arrived at the Torrey Pines High School parking lot to find the young teenager standing in the middle of the parking lot, police said. The teen pulled out a gun from his waist and pointed it at the officers. He refused to put down the gun despite officer commands to do so.

“Fearing for their safety, both officers fired their weapons at the male, striking him numerous times,” Holden said in a statement. The teen was rushed to the hospital but died from his wounds.

Police found a semi-automatic BB gun air pistol at the scene; the department is currently investigating the shooting.

“I am saddened to report that the 15-year-old boy who was killed was a student at our school,” San Dieguito Union High School District Superintendent Eric Dill said in an email sent to parents Saturday. “Law enforcement has not released the name of the young man, but our hearts go out to the student, his family and his friends.”

Suicide by cop. The gene pool is just a little cleaner.

Yep, suicide by cop all right. Now get ready for the countdown to ban BB guns, coming very soon!

Not that I give a rats ass about this moron, but when I was a kid I never heard
of a case where a cop shot some kid and at that time we had some very
realistic looking BB and toy guns. We had no fluorescent do-dad on the muzzle,
and the cops seemed to know what they were a glance.

While I do not think the cops are too trigger happy, I pretty well know that they
are increasingly facing 14-year-olds whose guns are all too real! In this
kind of atmosphere, I cannot blame them for not taking any chances!
