Old lady, tired of neighbor’s dog trespassing, pooping, and barking in her yard, throws it in trash.
She was caught on video, though.
The incident took place in League City in broad daylight and was caught on surveillance video, which shows an elderly woman in shorts grabbing a small dog and throwing it into a trash receptacle.
When the pooch named Bentley, a 7-pound Yorkie mix, tries to jump out of the garbage can, the octogenarian grabs a recycling bin and places it on top of the lid to prevent the dog from escaping.
According to the League City Police Department, when the senior citizen realized that a neighbor’s home surveillance camera was trained on the trash can, she went back and freed Bentley.
The dog’s owner, who was identified by the station KHOU11 only as Amanda, was outraged when she reviewed the CCTV footage and saw her beloved dog being unceremoniously tossed in the trash on a hot day.
According to the dog owner and her husband, Brandon, their family has been locked in a bitter neighbors’ feud with the elderly woman from the surveillance video for years over fencing and pets.
‘To be completely honest, I just think she’s a spiteful old lady,’ Brandon told the station.
On the day of the incident, which apparently took place earlier this month at around 4pm, Bentley had escaped his owners’ fenced-in yard and caught the attention of their elderly nemesis, who then grabbed the pup and stuffed it into the trash bin.
Bentley was not harmed and the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office said the neighbor will not be charged in connection to this incident.
The local police department also said there is evidence suggesting the octogenarian may be suffering from mental health problems.
Meanwhile, Bentley’s owners are planning to move in order to ensure their pets’ safety.
