There’s a website called Occupy Democrats which I won’t link. This website specializes in fake and false headlines which their followers believe in and get their news from. The majority of their followers on Facebook don’t even read the articles, they just read and believe the headline. In most cases the actual article will not support the headline. I had one liberal friend tell me that she doesn’t need to read the article as the headline fits the narrative she wants to believe.
Here’s a case in point of one of their latest articles being shared on Facebook by their uninformed followers.
The CEO Of General Electric Just Called On US Companies To Defy Trump
Just reading and believing that headline, you would think Jeff Immelt called on all US companies to go against President Trump. Now, Immelt is a believer in man made climate change although you wouldn’t know it by the carbon producing jet engines his company manufactures. But, if you actually click on the headline and read the article along with the link to the parent article in Politico, you will see that although Immelt isn’t happy with Trump’s recent decision with the EPA, he’s calling on private companies to pick up where the government left off.
And Immelt is calling on other companies to step up to fill the void that the administration is leaving behind. “Companies must be resilient and learn to adjust to political volatility all over the world,” Immelt wrote Wednesday in an internal company blog post obtained by POLITICO. “Companies must have their own ‘foreign policy’ and create technology and solutions that address local needs for our customers and society.”
That’s the way it should be. Private industry should step up and not depend upon government to fund all the research and pour billions into industries to make them cleaner. America didn’t become a world power by having government fund everything. Private industry made America great, not government.
Liberals will never know what Immelt said or actually meant since they can’t get passed the fake headlines.
Unfortunately there are some good Conservatives starting to do this too. I’ve noticed Col Allen West’s Facebook feed starting to do this. He’ll have a sensational headline but the article doesn’t necessarily support the headline.
