THE WANDERLUST MUST BE FED: A CANADA ADVENTURE

After having been jerked around by my service provider at my old blog for 10 days only to tell me it’s not their problem, I’ve dumped them and come here.

You will not find politics.

You won’t find much of anything for a while because right now I am planning for my next trip.

But stick around and you might find something you’ll like ….. eventually.

It’s been a while since I’ve traveled and on my bucket list were many places.

So last month I started checking things out and thought I might try Canada again.

Decided on Newfoundland.

Given that it made no sense to re-invent that travel wheel I began with the Thorntree from Lonely Planet and then moved on to TripAdvisor.

I also contacted their tourism bureau for books and maps.

It didn’t take long for me to realize that it would be a long trip ….. not to mention the 1700 or so miles just to get to the border with Canada.

Then a few hundred more to the town of Sydney in Nova Scotia.

Then a 6 hour ferry ride to Channel Port-Aux-Basques in Newfoundland.

Then a couple thousand more miles in Newfoundland. Yeah, it’s that big an island!

And back to Channel Port-Aux-Basques for the return trip.

But, what the hell. In for a penny, in for a pound.
